You can't understand how there might be some people with hard feelings/lack of sympathy towards insurance companies and their leadership?

A message left at the scene of an insurance executive’s fatal shooting echoes a phrase commonly used to describe insurer tactics to avoid paying claims.

A message left at the scene of a health insurance executive’s fatal shooting — “deny,” “defend” and “depose” — echoes a phrase commonly used to describe insurer tactics to avoid paying claims.

The three words were written on the ammunition a masked gunman used to kill UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, according to two law enforcement officials who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity Thursday. They’re similar to the phrase “delay, deny, defend” — the way some attorneys describe how insurers deny services and payment, and the title of a 2010 book that was highly critical of the industry.

UnitedHealthcare provides coverage for more than 49 million Americans and brought in more than $281 billion in revenue last year as one of the nation’s largest health insurers. UnitedHealthcare and its rivals have become frequent targets of criticism from doctors, patients and lawmakers in recent years for denying claims or complicating access to care.

Critics say insurers are increasingly interfering with even routine care, causing delays that can, in some cases, hurt a patient’s chances for recovery or even survival.

Insurance companies are one of the biggest offenders when it comes to just "doing the right thing". It's profit over lives every day and twice on Sunday. That isn't okay. And it wasn't what this country was founded on.

I can assure you that my reality is crystal as I am eternally introspective. But my egg might be hard boiled. This is a common workplace injury in my industry.

What if my "trolls" aren't trolls. Have you ever considered that?

Maybe any lack of nuance on the issue is due to your own political news media indoctrination?

The only thing that might be feigned from time to time is my tone. I may or may not be as passionate as it appears about the things I post about.

But to deny the absolute evil of many insurance company practices today, is just as absurd as not charging the CEO's killer with Murder One.

Vigilantism would be just as problematic on the streets of New York as in its subway cars. We have laws.

P.S. I have read practically zero on both the Marine and CEO murder story. Rest assured my comments are my own.

          Exactly right.

So he takes exception with ShockerPrez's post and excuses those sympathizing with the CEO murderer because the healthcare industry is ****ed up. But then a post later, he says it would be absurd not to charge the killer with Murder One.

Literally can't keep any troll attempt straight.

My posts are just beyond your reach sport. You're clearly bereft of the tools required to "decipher" them. And I'm not even trying to be confusing.

One more time for the peanut gallery:

            A) The insurance industry (particularly United Healthcare) is ****ed and crooked.

            B) Murder is wrong and illegal in this country.

Both things can be (and are) correct.

You're likely just upset because my thoughts don't align with the steady diet of propaganda your handlers feed you on a daily basis. I can imagine it's confusing.

P.S. If more people thought like me, the pols and the talking heads' influence would diminish greatly. But it's clear VERY few people think like me so... carry on with the outrage!!!!11111111

P.P.S. For what it's worth, I'm perfectly happy with a jury acquitting the Marine. I'm also expecting a jury to convict the ol' boy who shot the insurance executive. But not before everybody in here has a near heart attack every step of the way - perfectly aligned with the latest Faux News Alert!!

It's simple to me. If you believe that a CEO, who heads a company you believe is contributing to the lack of care and death of people, is deserving to be murdered. Then you should be ok with a man on the street directly threatening to kill innocent people on a subway accidentally dying at the hands of a bystander intervening to protect the innocent.

                That's all.

I wonder if the CEO was black, if it would change the narrative of some people.

Health care prices exploded when Obama Care came into existence in 2010.

                    1) Murder is illegal and should continue to be.

                    2) Insurance companies and hospitals absolutely play "God" with people's lives in the name of profit. I have a philosophical problem with that. In the past, it was common decency that kept men from acting immorally WHILE in pursuit of profit. All they had to do was imagine their own mother or father. Many today didn't have the luxury of being raised in a good home. Therefore they are missing some important reference points.

                    3) A crazy person threatening to kill people and said people actually feeling threatened are not one and the same. Unfortunately for any would-be hero to be anointed as such, there has to be a REASONABLE threat of harm or loss of life before he/she is allowed to legally harm another (in most states).

Folks are allowed to jump around and scream all kinds of stupid things without meeting the condition of criminal assault. I'm guessing if you are in a crowded subway, there's almost no chance anybody is going to die unless the assailant has a weapon. That changes things immensely. I don't know anything about the case with the Marine, but I'm guessing things got awkward when wacko died. And 6 mins of chokehold is absolutely unnecessary. In fact, it's kinda how you kill somebody. Just sayin'...

From Wikipedia: "While the time it takes for the choke to render an opponent unconscious varies depending on the type of choke, the average across all has been recorded as 9 seconds."

So the death of dude, and the 6m choke is why things didn't go so well for the Marine. It's reasonable for a municipality to investigate and try such a death. Imagine your own son was on the subway wacked out of his mind on meth and some Jarhead chokes him out and kills him. I'm guessing you would want a thorough investigation of the issue, wouldn't you?

The only reason this is being discussed on here is some dumb Washington Trumper is using it to "rile up the base". There are reasonable explanations for almost everything.

I'm still pissed about Obama Care. I had the most beautiful Blue Cross policy - full of benefits and for the price of a song. It took me a while to game the system after Hussein broke it. Now I use an alternative kind of health "insurance". It ain't as cheap as pre-Bum, but it's fair, and my benefits are unlimited. I can get cancer in the ass, eyes, and ears while suffering a stroke and not have to be worried about being wheeled out the side door with an aspirin pack one day.

I of course am a perfectly healthy individual (because of good habits) who is responsibly choosing to insure himself BEFORE becoming sick. If I had low morals, I would just go without insurance and sign up for Bum-Care the second anything was amiss. Being able to buy insurance AFTER a claim is ready to be filed. Brilliant!

You can have issues with the way healthcare in this country is handled. But it is a completely separate issue than a CEO father of 2 being blasted from behind (what a *****). All these idiots hooting and hollering for murder are complaining about the mistreatment of others. How ironic. The hypocrisy is downright appalling.

And don’t even get me started with the Perry thing again. Did someone really just make the argument that a drugged up psychopath is only a serious threat in a crowded subway if they have a weapon? Didn’t the guy who ended his life not have a weapon? Guess it can be done… who knew. Not to mention one psychopathic revved up fist blow to the head can cause some serious damage, if not death. What a completely moronic argument but typical given the person.
