Maybe Elon Musk? Who would want this job, but there is no doubt that the Department of Education wastes as much money as any other agency, and many agencies rival them with money waste. Also no states waste as much education money as California, New York, and Chicago.

Congress would have to be involved in totally dismantling or dissolving an Executive Department. Would the courts allow Title IX to be dissolved? The answer is No, so where would those policies move to if dissolved?

I think that they would see more success to have a person who agrees with Betsy DeVos run the agency, transferring power away from certain groups (and the agency generally), shrinking federal monies given to states for education, shrink the numbers of education bureaucrats within the department, giving incentives to states who grow Charter schools, and allow school choice in Charter, Public, and Private schools.

All the while, getting the feds out of trans-gender policies, policies that allow the feds the power to test kids (the states should do that), and taking away the powers of school teaching unions. Additionally too much federal money is given to school districts to build new facilities, which include athletic facilities (football and basketball, etc).

I actually think that defunding Sanctuary State and Local Governments is probably the wisest use of immediate Political Power (there is a limited amount of banked political change allowed).
