Moral is elections have consequences - good, bad or indifferent. If u don't like the way your country is to going (or if u do) then you should get out and vote - most Americans don't, but they they want to sit around and whine and complain.
I disagree SB. I am afraid MOST Americans LOVE things given to them. Things they didn't earn and don't deserve but believe they are entitled to....and you saw them vote in the last election. And those people just got paid off. And they will love it even more now. They aren't going to care about any so called (now) "tax". They aren't going to pay any penalty because it's NOW NOT A PENALTY. It's a tax. And they won't be paying it.

If conservatives don't hold the House, retake the Senate (and I for one think that's a borderline impossibility) and win the Presidency (no better than 50/50) so they can repeal this mess and FIX what's been broken for A LONG TIME NOW, then the end of this great country, as we know it, is imminent.

Maybe the Supreme Court figured out what most people already knew - that the mandate can't be enforced.

They didn't exactly say the mandate was a tax. What they said (and keep in mind, this was the 2nd fallback position by the admin), was that the penalty for not purchasing is a tax. So while you're not required to purchase insurance, failing to do so would result in the imposition of a tax.

        Talk about splitting hairs.

I see two things coming from this. First is that since the mandate failed to pass both the Commerce Clause and Necessary and Proper Clause, it should put limits on Congress in regards to federal welfare and other things. The 2nd thing, which probably nullifies the first, is that they can just say if you don't do what we ask of you, we'll tax your ass some more.

The next poll should be, will this result in a consecutive election with large gains by Republicans?

The individual mandate has changed a lot since the 1990's when the Republicans first introduced it to counter the employer mandate introduced by Clinton around 1993. Now Republicans are against it. Even Obama was against it as a senator before he was for it.

If the Rs don't take over everything, look for costs to go through the roof and your wallet to get thinner. This country has been placed in the toilet and it may soon get flushed.

I shouldn't be surprised. For YEARS the SC has been giving the federal government more power than they were ever supposed to have. I take that back, Congress has been doing that and the SC has sat by and let it happen.

The amount of BS flowing through this thread is nothing short of staggering.

I particularly love how the conservative rhetoric has gone from "this law is so complex that no one will ever understand it" to "it's a piece of **** law."

If you don't understand it, how do you know it's a piece of ****?
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

I don't disagree with you on "MOST AMERICANS". A sign of God judgment is when he lets you have the desires of your flesh.

Obama will win reelection. Democrats will maintain control of the senate and will make gains in the house (and might even take control). I see nothing in the national polling that says anything different. There is no "Reagan" running for president. The republicans have nobody that is capable of leading this country through the tough times and speaking frankly with them - so the socialist mantra will win. A lot of Americans are about to rediscover where their faith truly lives.

I am seriously considering cancelling the Insurance for my entire staff. I don't believe there is any mandate saying I have to pay a portion of it. I am so flipping tired of the pandering, by both sides.

Because I think it's a piece of **** means I don't understand it? False. It is a piece of **** and it will be proven as such in due time.

                        So predictable..

Liberals like Marty & RJL are so predictable and true to form.

They want, want and then want some more.

However, when it comes time to pay the piper, they place hands in their pockets, look down at the ground and shuffle their feet.

Of course the next rubber stamp comment is "Get those greedy corporations to pay for it."

When the 'greedy corporations' go belly up, "Well, they deserve it for being greedy all along."

                        Talk about piss poor analogies.

They are probably the same guys who go out, have a few beverages and a good time with all. But when the check comes, all of a sudden they have to hit the bathroom.

You can't find them with a search warrant.

The same thing is going on with BHO, Harry & Nancy.

15+ trillion in debt, borrowing like maniacs from the Red Chinese and it's business as normal?

                        Unbelievable.
Above all, make the right call.

I completely agree, but it seemed to me that it was fairly likely option 2 was going to happen. Option 4 was an extreme long shot..might as well added to that one "/WSU wins the 2013 NCAA Tournament". The people on here (Politics forum) are so closed minded that they never see both sides. I guess if all folks do is watch Fox News and Listen to Rush all day, I can see why more than half of Shockerneters where wrong.

Just curious what I "want" exactly, since you know me so well. LOL!

Just remember, more than half of the Justices who just upheld this are YOUR fellow Republicans. They've reviewed this healthcare bill far more thoroughly than you ever will.

One other thing this ruling proves is that electing a Republican president doesn't even come close to guaranteeing you'll get a conservative appointment to the SCOTUS. So even though it's expected that two appointments will be required in the next term, electing Romney won't give me any confidence we'll get two ultimately right-leaning candidates.

As much as I hate to say it, this ruling will probably force me to vote for "anyone but the other guy".
