  • NCAA - No tournaments for states who don't embrace Transgender Athletes

    https://www.kwch.com/2021/04/12/ncaa...e-tournaments/

The NCAA Board of Governors issued a statement on Monday regarding its support of transgender athletes and future tournaments.

The board said it “firmly and unequivocally supports the opportunity for transgender student-athletes to compete in college sports” and is “grounded in our values of inclusion and fair competition.

The NCAA said when it comes to tournaments, its policy ”directs that only locations where hosts can commit to providing an environment that is safe, healthy and free of discrimination should be selected.”

The NCAA signaled Monday it won’t hold championship events in states with prohibitions on transgender athletes — measures that are pending in both Kansas and Missouri.

Doesn't the NCAA itself prevent biological men from participating in women's sports? I could have sworn I read that recently in their policy somewhere.

Ummm, they can compete in college sports. In the men's divisions. Oh and uh, allowing biological males to compete against females ... well ... THAT isn't "fair competition". Unbelievable.

Well done NCAA ... that's the most stunning example of hypocrisy in the history of modern sport ...

"Unnatural modification of your body and drugs for INCREASED performance is wicked!! Down with steroids! Down with blood doping! Down with pain-killers! But!! Unnatural modification of your body for DECREASED performance is to be celebrated and female competitors must CHERISH the male competitors joining in their competitions, bathrooms and locker rooms! YAY for unnatural performance suppressing body modification! YYAAAaaaayyyy!"

It'll be interesting to see if KS or MO cave in to the NCAA. KS might not since the only NCAA tournaments are the ones in Wichita, although it looks like the KS gov will veto any bill. But I could see MO legislature caving in because the NCAA likes to use the T-Mobile Center in KC and the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, and the kansas.com article mentioned some other cities in MO set to host tournaments, so it could be a big revenue hit to MO.

It's 2021. Are we really going to have to start marching for women's rights all over again??

Don’t be coerced into saying things you know to be false. It is the road to totalitarianism.

They should just eliminate having segregated leagues based on sex altogether.

That would eliminate pay gaps, inequality and all of it.

Yeah, probably 99% of all the athletes would be dudes in H.S and college and pros. But the girls would kick ass up until about age 8 or 9.

                  Equality.

We definitely have to continue the fight for girls rights in athletics. Allowing biological boys to compete against girls defies logic. The negative thing is that only gifted athletic girls are seriously affected, especially in one on one sports like Track & Field, Wrestling, Tennis, etc. Too many parents will let it go if not directly affected, so there will be no marching and no remedies except the courts.

Fairness aside, I don’t care that much. Sex is biological.

I don't see another side to this issue. It's about fairness.

And I don't care what the Olympics, NCAA, or other adult athletic programs decide. It was suggested that we only eliminate segregated competitions for male and female. The other track that could happen is for a separate high school category for trans-athletes to compete in.

The very beginning of Title IX ...

No person in the United States shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance, except that: ...
I don't understand how there isn't a massive class action law suit against the NCAA and pro-transgender-playing-in-female-competition state laws for directly violating Title IX. Every spot that a male takes from a female on a female team is an opportunity stolen by one gender from another one ("denied the benefits of"). Every time a female scholarship is given to a male, a scholarship is stolen from the available female pool at large ("denied the benefits of" and "subjected to discrimination"). Every trophy, award, and record given to a male in female competition has directly violated Title IX by denying subjecting females to discrimination in favor of males ("denied the benefits of").

The National Chauvinist Athletic Association deserves to be sued into oblivion for not protecting female competition.

I guess it was said earlier by a male chauvinist. “I don’t care that much”.
