BLM self proclaimed trained Marxist, and Communist leader Patrice Cullors has bought (4)Million Dollar luxury homes in the LA hills, Georgia, etc. That goes with fellow Socialists Bernie , who owns 3 homes, and Elizabeth Warren who owns multiple homes and is also a multi-Millionaire. I honestly think this is a common misconception. IMO it’s about power. Financial success is the trophy one receives for having power.

I'm not disagreeing on the tone of the thread, but one needs to be a little more careful about what "wealth" is and is not.

1) A Marxist having 4 multi-million dollar homes is absurd, assuming she can pay for them and/or owns them free and clear.

2) Warren and her husband are generally thought to have a worth of $12-13 million and would qualify, but not a great example.

3) Pelosi is estimated between $45 and $202 million and a great one.

4) Sanders is estimated at $2.5 million. Poor example for someone at his age.

Basically, "wealth" includes free and clear assets plus cash and investments/cash. If you own free and clear a $200 to $300,000 home and assets plus have $700-800,000 of cash and investments, you are a millionaire. If you do not have a "company retirement plan", a conservative investment plan would yield $35,000 - $55,000. I do not consider that as being wealthy, but you are a millionaire.

When i I looked up the net worth calculation of a household of 2 Million dollars, google said that net worth would be in the Top 93.5 percent. So 2.5 Million dollars, would most likely would be in the Top 95 percent of net worth. For a self proclaimed Socialist that fights against Capitalistm Principles, for him to be wealthy enough to be in the Top 5% of net worth is hypocritical.

Generally, it is not "about me". However, I've always wanted to be safe financially in my retirement and do not have an employer retirement plan to lean on. This does not mean I was simply conservative in my investing during my working years, but prudent and informed on what I invested in. The less conservative one's assets are during retirement, the more "at risk" those assets are at and it up to the individual to determine to the level of risk they can handle if it does not rebound or if it would affect their life style while it recovers if assuming it will.

As I am somewhat familiar with agriculture in my family's history, I've seen how a small farm with average quality land can become a valuable product over generations if one can live on what he's paid for it or no longer needs the income from it. A small 160 acre farm could be easily worth $500,000. Add a reasonable "paid for" home plus modest self retirement plan and they could easily be a "millionaire". I seriously doubt they consider themselves wealthy if they still need the modest income their farm may provide.

It really comes down to what financial position one has put themselves in by the time they want to retire, how they want to live those years, and how secure/volatile the funds are that provides that level of retirement.

I do not disagree with your statement of them being hypocritical, just the level of their hypocrisy. I choose to use the best examples and their is plenty of them. Look at Hollywood and what spews from their rich mouths.

So, in 2015, Bernie is worth about 750,000 https://www.politico.com/story/2015/...-assets-120261 and is now worth 2.5 million or so? Pretty good return on a couple of failed presidential runs :)

Bernie has no agricultural land.

But he has written 4 books that have amassed 1.7 Million Dollars in a Capitalist economy which I believe has provided him with the money to purchase vacation homes. The people who estimated his net worth know the value of his 3 houses (approximately 1.6 Million), and how much his books made. They also know his pension amounts. What they don't know is his other investments, portfolios, etc. My guess is that he has other stock investments/portfolio that would probably put him with a lot more money than 2.5 Million, if as you say, he invested wisely.

I would imagine that AOC will dwarf his income soon and capitalize on our economy while attempting to bring it down.

Now, I agree that Patrice Cullors, an acclaimed trained Socialist, has utilized the world wide BLM movement to enrich herself and makes these other Socialists look tame as she has amassed her wealth and houses. She actually looked at houses in the Caribbean, but settled on Malibu and probably an ocean view.
