Now I am sure there has been people coming and going to these countries for the last 5 year which the Ebola outbreak has been going on, and there has not been these quarantine stories before - so why now?

If somebody had contracted it, I could see. But the Ohio Governor even used the ebola monitoring as a reason to veto a bill in his state

In his message explaining why he vetoed Senate Bill 22, Gov. Mike DeWine revealed that dozens of people in Ohio are actively being monitored for Ebola.

According to the governor, health officials are monitoring 44 people who have returned from areas of Africa with active outbreaks of Ebola.
