Hopefully a victory for free speech. And Democracy.
Yet the Liberal Democrats, the NBA, Marriott, Disney, and Apple will continue to support China and their millions of dollars over the Hong Kong freedom protesters.

          That's very true.

Lebron proved very -ahem- eloquently last week that the socialists are prey to the wiles of the despicable mammon as much, if not way more, than are the bad capitalists. And they also condemn free speech, under "certain" circumstances.

At least the capitalists are smart enough, and work hard enough, to spread it around; because what goes around comes around. It's a simple principle of physics.

There are some good points made in that NBA discussion. I wish they would have discussed the philosophical and ethical issues of getting into financial entanglements with an entity that presumably (maybe some of these guys are socialists at heart, difficult to say) doesn't share your values, or is even on the opposite end of the spectrum. That's probably a little too much to expect from sports entertainers.

              Interesting.

Sports entertainers. TV, movie, and music entertainers. Four groups that get the most prime time exposure to their personal political opinions and four groups that are held in such high esteem by so many others (for God only knows why). Entertainers have come a long, long way from what the world use to think of them.

              Interesting.

Gordon Chang who is a Chinese expert said that our companies are now allowing the Chinese government to not only compromise on free speech regarding things happening in China but also on things happening inside the US borders. He brought up one of our airlines companies who fired their CEO over some comments he made regarding Hong Kong. He said iho that our companies trying to play it both ways will be unsustainable. They will ultimately have to go one way or the other.
