  • About 2/3 of the way through Apocalypse Never. It’s an easy read filled with anecdotes, policies, and science that he’s experienced in his 30 years as an activist. The theme of the book is how to achieve maximum conservation and minimum pollution through industrialization. It’s a humanist take that suggests energy density pulls people out of poverty, takes less land, and pollutes less, thus allowing for The generated wealth to conserve the unused land. He does a nice job of using the existing data put out by the IPCC and other pro-environment groups to show the benefits in a policy shift.

    • Here’s a pushback on Shellenbergs article promoting his book:

"Shellenberger’s article promoting his new book “Apocalypse Never” includes a mix of accurate, misleading, and patently false statements. While it is useful to push back against claims that climate change will lead to the end of the world or human extinction, to do so by inaccurately downplaying real climate risks is deeply problematic and counterproductive."

      • Interestingly, ClimateFeedback is partially funded by Jerry Brown and Will McKinnon. Two individuals that are heavily called out in the book.

They are also supported by NASA, who is not called out.

AOC is lovin' it! Sometimes ridiculous sells and that's probably the marketing angle, but the premise is pure insanity.

                        • California’s Planned Ban on Gas-Powered Auto Sales Is Great for Elon Musk, but It Won’t Help the Environment

California Gov. Gavin Newsom—who reportedly owns three Teslas—recently proposed an order to ban the sale of new gas-powered road vehicles in the state by 2035.  This is great news for auto giant Tesla, but there’s a dirty little secret about electric vehicles that suggests the order will do nothing to improve the environment.

                          • This is a joke of a proposal that will never see the light of day. Governor Gruesome is just trying to make himself look cool. He is the biggest joke.

Aren’t we fortunate to have a rich man taking away freedoms and mandating how we should live.
