Simple, concise and true.
It will never cease to amaze me how many people don't have a grasp on the difference between deficit and debt.
And even more so, how politicians (on both sides) act like reducing the deficit from 1.5 Trillion per year to 1.3 Trillion per year is akin to curing cancer.
It's kind of like Clint Malarchuk's trainer pressing a towel against his severed carotid artery. Unless you fix the problem, he's just going to die a little more slowly.

"Malarchuk's life was saved by the team's trainer, Jim Pizzutelli, a former Army medic who had served in Vietnam. He reached into Malarchuk's neck and pinched off the bleeding, not letting go until doctors arrived to begin suturing the wound."

Clint was lucky as heck. For reasons I cannot explain, I was actually watching that game on tv (I must have been out of town) and remember almost crying knowing that poor kid was going to die, and watch himself bleed to death.
How the trainer was able to reach in and at least slow the bleeding....I don't know, but he deserves a medal. It's still hard to watch.
I've seen the play probably 500 times and still can't see where the skate hits him in the throat....it's so fast.
KungWu, there are a lot of videos related to the incident...curious if you watched some of the others (including the live feed)?

No, after watching the video I saw his mother say "It was like watching my child die" and it hit too close to home for me to search further.
I will definitely research the first aid technique of reaching in and closing off an artery though -- you never know when you could come upon an accident where that could save a life.Kung Wu say, man who read woman like book, prefer braille!
