  • On campus, you can be guilty of rape without being proven

I had not heard of this mandate from the Dept. of Education. You can be found guilty of rape/sexual assault on a university campus if only meeting a preponderance of evidence, even after local police issue a warrant for the accuser that she lied about the incident.

At the University of North Dakota (UND) the unthinkable has become a reality. A student has been found guilty of sexual assault despite the fact that local police refused to charge him with a crime – any crime.

I had a friend that went through this (sort of). He was a good guy and suddenly he was dismissed from school for rape. Eight months later he was found innocent, but the school wouldn't let him come back. Of course I don't know all the circumstances, but it was quite bizarre.

As a guy it always scared me a little.
