  • Dem Govener Shuts down Minnesota Goverment

Democratic Governor Dayton chose to veto the Republic proposed budget of 34 Billion (previous budget was ~31 billion) with no tax increases. The governor wanted a bigger budget with tax increases to "tax the rich".

    From the NYT

". . . on the eve of a holiday weekend, residents [found] the state's parks, historical sites and the Minnesota Zoo closed, hunting and fishing licenses no longer being issued, and that state's lottery system and racetracks unavailable. Minnesota's 84 major rest areas along highways were closed. Thousands of state employees [at least 24,000] were expected to be sent home without pay, contractors told to walk away from hundreds of road construction projects already underway.

This is just another example of how the left doesn't just want to spend more. They want to take more from those who earned it. They believe it is their money, not yours.

Governor Dayton is a very rich guy himself. It is interesting that he is so intent on taxing himself more.
