Congressman Thaddeus McCotter wants to be President

I don't know much about McCotter but based on this interview (from SubGod's favorite cable show) he will make the debates interesting:

McCotter, at least on my favorite cable show, is pretty straight forward with his assessment of the situation in DC and within the Republican Party. He would definitely make the debates great.

From what I can tell, dry wit, articulate, and quick off the cuff. He has no chance of winning - but he will make things fun. And I think that is a good thing.

I hadn't seen where he was actually going to run as the video you linked was from a couple years ago. I guess he's officially announcing today. I'm going to have to watch the next debate now. Guitar-Playing Congressman to Enter GOP Presidential Field

"There's a lot of people out there that worry the American dream is in danger," he said Friday on WJR-AM in Detroit. "So I was listening to the other candidates. They're fine people. But I don't think I'm hearing anything coming from them that's going to help us seize this opportunity."

McCotter said he would push for a fundamental restructuring of government and for Wall Street banks that received federal bailout money to free up credit.

"We're not seeing credit flow down to entrepreneurs, innovators and workers that will grow the economy and shape it for the 21st century," he said. "To me that has to be a linchpin of any economic policy that goes forward."
