  • Hugo Chavez Cancer?

Hugo Chavez has been hospitalized in Cuba and his condition is believe to be possibly serious.

Stratfor, a private intelligence company, says it believes Mr. Chávez has twice been operated on for prostate cancer. The first time, Stratfor says, took place in Caracas in May, when the president unexpectedly canceled a planned trip to Brazil. Citing a "source with a link to the president's medical team," it said the second operation took place in Havana on June 10 when Cuban doctors discovered that the tumor had spread to Mr. Chávez's pelvis. Since then, Stratfor says, Mr. Chávez has been "heavily medicated and in a great deal of pain."
Probably a situation to watch based on recent world events where pro-democracy elements have tried to rise up.

No, no. Cuba has free medical treatment for everyone. It's the best in the world and I know this because Michael Moore said so.

It's free. Doesn't cost anything, available to everyone, no waiting, and it's the best medicine money can buy, except of course it's free so you don't have to buy it. Senior Chavez will be fine and is in no danger.

Former Cuban President Fidel Castro and Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez were filmed walking together with Chavez appearing healthy after speculation that he was seriously unwell following an operation, Reuters reported. The president is recovering well and the images should assuage fears regarding his health, Venezuelan Communications Minister Andres Izarra said. Chavez will continue his recovery in the established time, however, he has not stopped working or exercising his constitutional authority and has called a ministerial meeting, Vice President Elias Jaua said.
