Why I'm a Democrat - College Democrats of America 2011 Summer Conference

This video reminds me why I'm a Conservative.

And it also is good evidence the legal voting age should be raised to 30. After all, if 60 is the new 40, then 18 is the new 12. ;-)

    Contrast:

    CRNC | "What's Your Plan?"

    CRNC | I Am Debt

I couldn't help but notice that there are better looking kids in the last two videos. What happened after I left campus? :D

I heard ONE good reason to be a Democrat..."Because we are the party of civil rights."...at least that has some truth to it AND is seen by many to be an actual benefit to America. No one else could articulate a real idea of the Democratic party.

It depends on your definition, but The democrats believe they are, and they believe they are doing what is in the best interest for civil rights. I can't fight with someone for conviction, but I can surely disagree with the policy of how to achieve such an agenda.

What do you think their definition might be? I don't know; but I could guess based on what I am told. I would also guess they don't know their history.

Public service maybe? I won’t pretend to know what is going in these young melons (other than "I wasn’t that stupid when I was your age"). Anyway it is for the good, my IQ tumbled about 30 pts.watching it. This is a poor substitute, but enjoy:

At first I thought that was satire . . . Limbaugh is a secessionist? Democrats defend life?

Then I realized it was legit.

Oh well, most college kids have no idea why they believe what they believe. The ones with a brain will become independent some day. The ones with hearts will continue to advocate deficit spending during the "Great Recession". Ugh.

I tried to edit from my phone, mostly because I am annoyed – I just had a “sit down” with a cousin of mine. Super smart girl but willfully mislead (and I would never put her in the category of those in these videos). Doesn’t mean she shouldn't take a second look - and I hope she does some day. But the odds are against it.

The problem is "we" are raising whole generations that regard facts as more or less optional. They are taught is important to have views but not that it is important to know what you are talking about. They are not taught it is important to hear the opposite view point and more important to learn how to distinguish why viewpoint A and B are different and determine which has the most evidence and logic behind it. They disregard that – they hear something, some rhetoric, and they run with it.

                      It is sad.
