Amazing, hard to keep a secret anymore.
Within 2 minutes of the News agencies saying he was going to do an address, Twitter already had the reports that Osama was dead.

I'll admit I was very concerned at first when I heard Obama was going to do a late night adress on National Television, as there are FEW things in the world worthy of that spotlight. I had the notion that Osama was never going to be caught or that he was already dead so possibillities of a new "Cuban Missile Crisis" went through my head.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

Islamic Scholars Question Bin Laden's Sea Burial

"If a man dies on a ship that is a long distance from land, then the dead man should be buried at the sea," said Shiite cleric Ibrahim al-Jabari. "But if he dies on land, then he should be buried in the ground, not to be thrown into the sea. Otherwise, this would be only inviting fish to a banquet."

Maybe they should put 2+2 together. Hopefully they stuffed him with pork and put him in shark infested waters.

Also, now we know why the Royals called off their honeymoon.

I lost interest after I read "If a man......."

              The correlation ended there.

I've enjoyed the many renditions of the National Anthem today.

I just watched Dirk Nowitzki listen to the anthem with his hand over his heart. Maybe a gesture, maybe sincere.

Are we starting to get the rest of the story?

Did Senior Military/Intelligence Officials Overrule President Obama Regarding Mission to Kill Osama Bin Laden?

White House Insider: Obama Hesitated – Panetta Issued Order to Kill Osama Bin Laden

I find it interesting that Gates announced his retirement and was replaced with Panetta right before the action. Given that Panetta is said to have formed a coalition with Gates and Hillary Clinton against the President, any failure of the mission could have been put solely on him.

President Obama was literally pulled from a golf outing and escorted back to the White House to be informed of the mission. Upon his arrival there was a briefing held which included Bill Daley, John Brennan, and a high ranking member of the military. When Obama emerged from the briefing, he was described as looking “very confused and uncertain.” The president was then placed in the situation room where several of the players in this event had already been watching the operation unfold. Another interesting tidbit regarding this is that the Vice President was already “up to speed” on the operation. A source indicated they believe Hillary Clinton had personally made certain the Vice President was made aware of that day’s events before the president was. The now famous photo released shows the particulars of that of that room and its occupants. What that photo does not communicate directly is that the military personnel present in that room during the operation unfolding, deferred to either Hillary Clinton or Robert Gates. The president’s role was minimal, including their acknowledging of his presence in the room.
"Don't measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what you should accomplish with your ability."

It may be going to far to say this is confirmation, but it certainly adds credibility to what some conservative talk radio types (specifically Mark Levin, as he is the only one I listen much to on my drive home from work), have been saying that Obama just doesn't seem to know what he's doing.

That 2nd link includes a phrase from the insider that seems most appropriate . . . . "absentee president".

Obama had no choice but to take action, eventually it would have leaked that our intelligence agency and special operations had what they believed to be creditable information regarding OBL’s whereabouts. Doing nothing would have been political suicide assuring that Obama would not be granted a second term and he may have even faced significant pressure to resign. The risk that the mission could go horribly wrong was still a far better option than inaction.

I am glad that a ground team was sent in as opposed to an air strike. Obama deserves credit – as he likes to say, make no mistake those Seals were not there to take OBL alive. They were there to triple tap him.

This whole thing does put our liberal friends in a bit of an intellectual bind though, right?

It sure does. It is interesting in this area there has not been much "change" from Bush policies. In fact it has been a continuation just with the liberal blathering muted. Just shows you their stand was less about principles than their own hatred for bush for defeating their high priest al gore.
