Fight of the Century: Keynes vs. Hayek Round Two

This video is phenomenal, educational, and clever. It is worth ten minutes of your time.

Well done video. I had to laugh (and cry inside) to watch the Bernanke look-alike nodding to everything Keynes said.

It, the video, gives one the basics from both sides. The decision is up to the individual. It cuts to the heart of the debate.

It does give the basics in mostly straight-forward, if lyrical, way. But the beginning and the end clearly show the viewpoint of the producers.

        - The immediate suspicion/guilt applied when Hayek uses the words "high explosives". A Keynesian would have never put that in the video.

        - That Keynes was declared the winner.

        - Hayek was being surrounded and congratulated by the younger people.

        - Also the overall arrogance by portrayed by Keynes in the video tells me the producers are on the side of Hayek.

Nonetheless, they did a great job with the vid.

Yes. They favor Hayek. But I think the arguments are presented in a fair manner. I thought the nicest touch (other than “new mustaches”) was the names of the coaches in the boxers’ corners. Also, the security guard at the beginning is a man named Mike Munger, an economist at Duke University. He did well and was followed by a great line by Keynes, who says to Hayek, “I see you took a detour down the road to serfdom”.

The ending is excellent. Regardless who is "right", Keynes always wins in the media and with politicians -- they have portrayed that perfectly (and the press and government officials surround Keynes, ignoring Hayek).

I have heard Hayek is required reading at Koch. What a stud.

              Very well done video.

Munger is (or was) chair of the poli-sci dept at Duke. He also ran as a Libertarian gubernatorial candidate.

No point. Just thought it was interesting that the guy has run for governor before.
