Yes, but I think our goal should be 12-4 and getting first round byes. We went 13-3 seven years ago, and I can't see this team doing that anytime soon, this team just isn't built like that.
I don't see much differences in that years team to this years team tbh.

    Good Rushing team.

A Get the Job done on defense team.

    Good Special teams.

    Timely to sometimes great Passing.

    Good Tight end

1000+ Yard Receiver (I believe Kennison was that year but I'm not 100% sure)

    Great coaching.

Those are broad points, so it applies to a lot of teams but still I don't think this years team is that much different.

The chiefs are an awful Passing Interference call (Houston game) and a removed appendix away from being 12-3 right now, with a chance at 13-3 going into the playoffs.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

We all thought Carl Peterson and Herm Edwards were clueless. Pioli and Haley have turned this around so quick and (so far) have unbelievably better ability to evaluate talent than KC"s previous admin guys.

How long has it been since KC had rookies that contributed even into their second and third years?

I felt Gonzalez needed to be traded because he deserved a chance at playoffs and maybe a Super Bowl . Gonzalez deserved a better team than KC was providing.

Pioli and Haley let Gonzalez go to a playoff contender and signed a replacement that's reasonably close to what Gonzalez did and is 10 (or more) years younger.

This is reminiscent of what happened at WSU when Schaus became the AD. And we got Armstrong out of the Prez's office.
The future's so bright - I gotta wear shades.

Alot credit should be given to Haley for hiring 2 great coordinators in Weis and Crennel.

 Coordinators and specialty coaches are never given enough credit. The most impressive thing Weis has done is the development of Matt Cassel. Romeo Crennel has also done a lot with the defensive line. Defense starts with how well your d-line is. Dorsey, Studebaker, Gilberry, and even Hali have been great this year.

The Chiefs put themselves is a position to take advantage of some breaks throughout the season. The opening week win vs. the Chargers and their fast start got them believing in what might be possible. They won when they should and the coordinators coached to their players' strengths.

In all honesty, Todd Haley should be the AFC coach of the year and Pioli GM of the year for getting the most out of what they had and identifying talent and needs.

I am in the "would have lost a bundle" camp. No way was I expecting 10 (or more) wins and AFC west champs.

No reason they can't win a playoff game at home, either. They're capable.

Congrats also to Pro Bowl selections: Bowe, Charles, and Waters.

I'd make a case that Cassel and Hali are deserving as well.

And Haley for Coach of the Year.

Cassel and Hali aren't brand names, yet. Brian Waters had a good season, but he got the votes because he is a household name. Haley deserves coach of the year. As well as GM of the year to Pioli.

I'd put it another way. I expect Pioli to continue to be Pioli and Weiss and Crennel to continue to do what they do. In other words, I expect people who have been extremely successful throughout their entire NFL career to keep on experiencing success.

The inevitable is starting to happen......people trying to get at Weis and Crennel.

First off Weis is getting "pursued" by Florida.

Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Charlie Weis is being targeted by the University of Florida to become the offensive coordinator under new coach Will Muschamp, two sources confirmed to ESPN.

I don't see him going, but thats me.

I doubt he leaves KC until he can become the Head Coach somewhere.

Someone else being wrong about something does nothing to negate the things you were wrong on.

If you just owned being wrong, it wouldn't be a big deal. No one perfectly predicts the future. If you continue to refuse to own your wrong prediction, you just make yourself looking stubbornly stupid.
