I would be fine with moving to the WAC as long as there's going to be a move to strengthen it. The schools look like they're closer to D1 schools than Valley schools but the basketball programs don't necessarily look stronger. I'd rather us just take half of the members from the MVC and half from the WAC anc create our own conference.
Checking Wiki....membership in the WAC will be San Jose State, Louisiana Tech, Idaho, New Mexico State, Utah State, Texas State, UTSA and Denver.
Outside of Utah State that's not offering a lot. They'd have to be looking to improve the conference before I'd be willing to leave the Valley for the WAC. It appears the Valley, with all of its problems would be stronger than the WAC.
Now, the MWC would be one I'd consider if it were possible. Membership after 2012 looks to be Air Force, Colorado State, New Mexico, San Diego State, UNLV, Wyoming, Boise State, Fresno State and Nevada.
That at least appears to be a stronger option if it were one. Football would obviously help any move.
Right now, the MWC is also in shambles, but not quite as bad as the WAC. My understanding is that Hawaii will also be leaving the WAC, for football at least.
With the MWC losing BYU, Utah, and TCU, their chances of ever becoming a BCS conference just went out the window. With all that's happened, they may be looking to expand to 12 teams, perhaps one or two teams being non-football.

If the MWC is adding one more team, it seems like the logical addition would be Utah State. The only thing I wouldn't like about a conference switch out west is later game times. I'd probably be willing to sacrifice that for playing in a conference that gets 4 bids every year. No matter which conference is being talked about, I would love to be paired up with Utah State somehow.
If the MWC added USU I'd be all for a switch there. Later game times would suck but that would be a stronger conference with USU, SDSU, New Mexico, UNLV and Nevada. I've always though CSU had potential. But maybe I'm way off there.
What the MWC could have been! TCU, Utah, BYU, Boise St. I really thought if they could have stuck together, they would have been added to the BCS line up. But, what's their loss, could be our gain.
Such BCS thinking by them is all but gone. The best thing they can now do is maybe become a stronger conference over all, more of a super-conference for all sports. Their men's basketball has also taken a hit with the loss of Utah and BYU.
Rumors are starting back up about Utah State and San Jose State to the MWC. Utah State turned down the MWC earlier in the conference realignment talks, but something must have changed.
