Only one end zone will be used for offense Saturday at Wrigley Field for the Illinois-Northwestern game because of safety concerns, the Big Ten announced Friday.

Turning baseball fields into football fields sounds really cool and unique but just doesn't make much sense.

They had to have planned years in advance for this configuration to work. It's funny that a day before the game they realize there's an issue with the wall being within a foot of the one end zone line.

The Bears used to play in Wrigley and the Chicago Cardinals won the NFL championship there too, so not sure what's changed.

I saw the picture of the one endzone the other day and fell out laughing.

For one, when that occurred the goal posts were at the front of the endzones, not the back so anything that close to the wall wouldn't have been that big a deal.

If I bought tickets in the east end zone (I've heard these are Northwestern students) I would be asking for some sort of discount.
