Reminds me of a scene from "The Naked Gun".

I know the scene you speak of...
Marge: The plant called and said that if you don't come in tomorrow, don't bother coming in Monday.
    Homer: WOOHOO! Four day weekend.

I get what they're going for but that logo just doesn't work for replication.

The brush stroke says "Artsy" but you can't transfer that to a screen printed or embroidered shirt very well.

Also, what do you do with a dark background?

Maybe they should look at these.

Now that you mention that, I can't even picture that as a building.

I have no background in art, advertising or printing and I wasn't blown away by the new logo but I thought it wasn't bad. After looking at the other designs I did like the one by Marlon Knapp, the two by Jarrett Green but really I think I liked the one by Paul Rattana. The one by PR incorporates the artsy part of the new logo but I liked the bold use of red.
Like I said I have no background and my dad always said all of my taste was in my mouth.

I'd be in favor of either Eric Wittman's or Wade Hampton's.

I agree with you, TMH, both of those are simple and elegant. Wittman's gives more of an actual logo concept, but I really like Hampton's elegant simple line, which to me is actually very bold. The roof line in his is clear and distinct without me wanting to start singing "mammary".
