  • Here we go Again......

Don't know if it is spilling oil but it seems similar to the last explosion......Hopefully the Blow Out Preventer works......

We do not have that much details ATM. It might not even be an active rig. Let's hope for that.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

I don't believe that rig was producing at the time. I am not saying to sound the all clear, but it doesn't appear to be the same problem, yet.

I'd send a couple of Harvard economists down there to analyze the situation and suggest a course of hearings from the Senate led by the great thinker and doer, Harry Reid.

Coast Guard: No oil sheen from Gulf explosion

The rig is a fixed platform that was in production at the time of the fire, according to a homeland security operational update obtained by The Associated Press.

The update said the platform was producing 58,800 gallons of oil and 900,000 cubic feet of gas per day. The platform can store 4,200 gallons of oil.

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal said Mariner Energy officials told him there were seven active production wells on the platform, and they were shut down shortly after the fire broke out.
