  • shocker piggy bank

i picked up a shocker piggy bank today.. thought it was pretty cool and id like to know more about it. its about 8" tall and is made of resin.. it looks like it is from the 1960s or 1970s. does anyone remember this as a giveaway or a purchasable souvenir? i'd be happy to post a picture, but have no clue how to do so.

I think I know what you're talking about. I've seen them on Ebay a few times in the $10 - $15 range. Always thought about buying one, but never have.

I actually have 2 of those...but yeah I've seen piggy banks before...not sure if it's the particular one you have though. My favorite piece of WSU history I like to buy off Ebay is the 1989 Champion Coolers. I've bought 7 of those off Ebay.

I don't know much about the bank other than I tried to purchase one like it several years ago on eBay and it went sky high. Not sure what you paid for it; however it's 'rare' and 'unique' and I'd like to have one to add to my vast collection of Shocker collectibles. For future reference I'd like to know what you paid for it. PM me if you don't feel confortable posting the price.
Also, congratulations on learning to post photo's... well done.

That's a cool bank. I'd like to have one of those... I have seen that particular one once or twice on Ebay, but don't recall what it sold for. The one I thought you had was an actually "piggy" bank. The most expensive things I've seen go on Ebay are the Coleman lanterns that were I think given away at some point to commemorate the first night football game. Those usually go for around $700 or so. Also I've seen a lot of rip-off WSU helmets on Ebay some people try to pass them off as authentic they usually go for around 200 - 300.

I've bought a bunch, but don't really have any extras. Have sold them to friends or traded for other WSU memorabilia. I've got 2 right now...one that's never been used and the one I take to the baseball games.

Hey InWu- I have had that bank since I was a weeshock, haha! It's now on my drafting table, and still as empty as ever! I'll ask about the history of where it was sold (I assume at the then-CAC now-RSC bookstore.)
