I just hit the one-year stage since my cancer diagnosis. Examination by 2 doctors, complete blood work up, CAT scan, PET scan, and every one of them came up negative. I've been pronounced 100% cancer-free.
From a Stage 4 diagnosis to cancer-free in 13 months is proof that miracles still occur. I had a lot of prayers from a lot of people.
If you don't believe in prayer, than I'm probably the luckiest person you will ever encounter in your life.
I planted a tree to celebrate the event. I fully expect to live another 20 years to see that tree mature. It's a Prairie Pink dogwood. The parent of my tree is at 8th and Woodlawn and stops traffic there when it's in bloom.
I'm also looking forward to renewing my season tickets for another 20 years. I'll be one of the ultimate blue hairs by then and I can't yell real loud any more, but I'm going to the games.
