What was the contract? (years and amounts)

The Cards will probably need some more bullpen help this year, if they want to compete with the Phillies.

This will explain it all much better than I can.

The Cards signed him and Trevor Miller to extensions about the same time. As I was following each game, I wasn't that sold on the idea when it happened. As the season rapped up, I thought the Cards should have gone a different direction. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

Cards come from behind in the 9th on a 2 run pitch hit HR by Stavinoha. Need to do well this weekend at the Brewers to put some early distance between them and the Cards. Holliday has a good night while Pujols basically took the night off (0-3).

There are a lot of Cardinal fans in Kansas b/c they were the only team until the Athletics moved from Philly to KC in the 1950s.

My grandparents and dad were Cardinal fans, so I got some of it from them.

They all became Royals fans too when the Royals started in KC.

Since I did not grow up in KC, I see no problem with being a fan of KC and St Louis. I rooted for St L in the 1982 and 1987 World Series and the Royals in 1985.

Being a fan of a MLB simply isn't the same as a fan of your alma mater.

I also like the Cardinals b/c they may be the only mid-size market in MLB that can legitimately compete with Boston, NY Mets and Yankees, Cubs, and Dodgers in payroll and on the field.

That will no doubt be a tough blow to the Rockies organization after having been with them for 17 years.

                So young.

Indeed this will hurt the Rocks. But they are a strong organization and should bounce back. kind of dampens the mood after getting the no hitter on saturday.
