From the freaky file, according to MLB.com KC is up 15-0 over Arizona in the 4th inning. 16 hits of which only three are of the extra-base variety. No homeruns.

Sounds like it's now 21-0 in the 5th.

I'm trying to find out how many rushing and passing yards the Chief, errr, Royals have. Not bad for just before halftime.

Is anyone else feeling completely underwhelmed and dare I say, disinterested, in the upcoming season?

I get the sense that we are going to suffer through another 90+ loss season where KC is out of the picture by mid-May. There will be a couple of positive stories, like Greinke having another great year, Aaron Crow arriving in KC and a couple of solid offensive performances from Butler and Callaspo.

Predictably, the Royals will have one of, if not the worst bullpens - Soria notwithstanding - in the AL, with more inconsistency from Hochevar and Bannister.

The acquisitions - Ankiel, Getz, Fields, Pods, Kendall - will disappoint and KC will finish last in runs scored, again.

Aviles will show signs of regaining his rookie form but Hillman will continue to give Betancort more starts and at-bats. Mitch Maier will out-produce the rest of our outfield but will be viewed all season as a backup.

Alex Gordon will simply cease to exist and be erased from our memories.

In the infamous words of immortal RoyalsCorner poster Dr. Bombay . . . we're doomed.

Im interested. Im just not as engaged. More so because Im really really busy this time of year with my sons baseball season as well as my normal stuff.

But the fact that somebody sat down and thought that it was a good idea to move DeJesus from left to right so that Ankiel could play center field does not deserve to have their job.

Ill watch. Hell Im going to try and get up there for a few games. Lets go Royals!

I was gong to try to get up and see a game until I saw that half-way decent seats will cost $20 + fees (I like to have my tickets ahead of time). I'm just not wild about putting down $100 for my family to enjoy one baseball game, not counting gas and food, that in all probability will be a loss.

For the product on the field, it's not worth it.

I've never been this down on the Royals. At least they appear to have some real talent in the minors. But how many times have we heard that?

None of the additions made really have me excited. Ankiel intrigues me but it's a wait and see thing.

I'm about to completely give up on Gordon.

                      I'm no fan of Guillen.

I look forward to Butler and Greinke and Soria.

Maier should play more, but won't.

                      I hope Pena develops.

I want to see Crow up sooner rather than later.

Not sure what to expect from this team. It'll probably be more fun to keep tabs on the Minor League players. But I am attending one of the KC/STL games this year. Billy better have a good game!

Royal you're right regarding the product on the field doesnt demand that you shell out good money to travel that way.

I look at it as more about me being able to get away for a little bit plus my son really enjoys going and taking everything in. (plus it helps that I have quite a few friends in the KC area so that helps with some expenses) With that said yeah I can just go to a wingnuts game but there is a big difference between the two.

I never understood how the Royals operate but I assume the whole idea of getting old washed up players is to give the players in the minor leagues some time to develop.

With everything I read on blogs, expect a 90 to 100+ loss season & Hillman gets fired if the team isn`t .500.

The problem is, that has been the company line at least since Allard Baird took over.

They better give Mitch Maier a chance to play centerfield.

i agree with you guys, there is pretty much zero excitement from me this season.

-Gordon gets hurt more the Jose Gullien despite him being 8 year younger
-Pena better get more starts at catcher than Grandpa
-I hope we see Crow called up soon.

I was talking to my buddy the other night, I told him, I really dont think the Royals will ever have a decent team again. I have been really watching them since 1993, and they have had a losing record every except one season. Thats 1 winning season in the 17 years i will been watching, and I know its actually worse than that. I will still make it up there for a game or two, especially to watch Zach pitch.
