    Summarized by rotoworld.com:
Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff indicated to SI's Peter King that he has good information that the Chiefs are unlikely to consider Tennessee S Eric Berry at No. 5 overall.
Dimitroff worked with Chiefs GM Scott Pioli in New England, and they are still close. "I was talking to Scott Pioli about Berry, and I said, 'Scott, this guy's your pick,'" said Dimitroff. "He said, 'You know how I feel about safeties that early.'." The history of safeties taken at the top of the draft is checkered at best. The Chiefs appear more likely to use their first-rounder on an offensive tackle.
I'd like to get Berry, but it looks like we're going OT in the 1st round again. I'm just not liking the fact that we may be taking the #2 OT on the board, but if that happens perhaps we'll shock everyone and take Idaho's Mike Iupati. We need so many positions I doubt I'll be upset with whomever we select..... unless it's another Defensive Tackle.... ugggg.
I hope this is a smoke screen

That's what I was thinking too. There's no way you can pass up on a guy with this much potential.

Berry is #3 on Kiper's newest "Big Board" but I can see why Pioli would pass him up and go for an OT. I really want Berry and I've wanted him since about September, but our OL needs an upgrade just as much as our pass coverage. Heck, some people don't even see Berry as the #1 Saftey out there this year. They like that guy from Texas (can't remember his name off-hand and don't want to scour the net looking for it). As long as we take the trio of OL, S and WR with our first 3 picks, I'll be satisfied. :good:

The Texas safety is Earl Thomas.

This sounds pretty good for the Chiefs.

Brandon Marshall may be traded to the Dolphins for a 2nd round pick in this year's draft and 2011

Pretty much a done deal for 4 years $47 million plus another $24 million guaranteed.

Maybe it's smokescreens but it sounds like Pioli isn't sold on Berry and might go with Okung or Bulaga.

yea, its a smoke screen, because he sends a mixed message, he says tackle is safest position but also says this

“Branden’s our left tackle. He’s played in the past other positions. But we haven’t spent a lot of time playing him at other positions or practicing at other positions. He’s our left tackle. He does a good job for us. He improved a lot last year.

How many years has it been since a MNF game? I guess that's a perk when you get a 'new' stadium. I'd say we got a decent draw with the schedule, let's see if we can double our win total again.

The last prime time game we had at home was 3 years ago on Thanksgiving Night against the Denver. The last monday night game was i believe against the Patriots in 2004. Just going through the schedule, i have us at 8-8, its a pretty generous schedule.

When I looked at it, my initial thought was 8-8 also.
