Chiefs Sign Center Casey Weigmen, thank god i dont have to watch Niswnager snap the ball 10 feet over matt cassel head anymore.
610 out of KC is reporting that we bringing in former colts starting Guard and KC native Ryan Lilja in. This off season has been good so far, no over paying over the top moves, but some nice solid signings. JMO.

Just heard that WASH might draft Clausen at #4, which pretty much frees the Chiefs up to draft anyone that isn't a QB or DT. I know we need an OT, but with the depth of that position in this years draft I hope we wait to get that in a later round. I'd love to see the Chiefs draft someone like Eric Berry or even Dez Bryant (I think his issues are overblown). We really haven't used a top pick on a position player in quite some time (I'm not counting our selections of Bowe or LJ, since those were in the late 20s of the draft) and I'd love to see us go in that direction.

honestly with us signing Weigman back as our center and bringing in Lilja on Monday to play Right Guard for us, i really think this would almost elminate us drafting a OT with the 5th pick, I really think our pick will be Berry if hes there.

A number five pick is way too high of a risk for some like Dez Bryant. I agree his issues seem to be overblown a bit, but I would definitely rather have Eric Berry.
If we make a deal like we did last for two 1st round picks then I could see us getting Bryant mid-first round.

            Chiefs sign OL Ryan Lilja

He signed for 3 years. This should really help our OL problems.

Yup i agree, now i would like us to draft a RT in the 2nd or 3rd round, then IMO our line would be set. Although O'Callahan did a decent job at RT last year.

We need to focus on play makers now. I would love to see us get Berry if at all possible. Next, probably a wide receiver not necessarily Dez Bryant, but maybe someone in the second round. There's a kid from Illinois that's supposed to be pretty good, can't remember his name though.

Something that is kind of overshadowed by other problems has been a blocking TE or a scoring TE for that matter. That would make a great impact on red zone scoring efficiency.

As far as WR goes, i have been in favor of getting Golden Tate WR from Notre Dame with first pick in the 2nd round. Has alot of speed, and plus has worked with Charlie Weiss for 4 years, so should know the system some what.

My only problem with Golden Tate is that he isn't very big. Although, he still might be a threat on the offensive side you never know. Most of the receivers in this draft are kind of a gamble, they all have blemishes. Maybe we should be looking for a trade for a #2 wide receiver.(I would consider Chambers & maybe Bowe as #1's)

I agree slightly. We do need a Saftey BAD (I'm tired of Jon McGraw and 57 year old Mike Brown) but we also need a young, stud WR. I've wanted Berry since before the season even ended and now we can have him. I just don't want Dez to become another Randy Moss in the draft. Sliding due to overblown personal issues and then becoming a HoF. However, I've heard that Golden Tate actually WANTS to come to KC and we can get him later and cheaper than Dez, so we might as well go with Berry and get ourselves an Ed Reed. :good:

Agreed on all fronts. If Berry is on the board, he should be our guy. Even if we didn't need a safety, he is a special enough player that I would have a hard time passing on him.

I found it interesting that Romero Crennel ran Eric Berry's pro day yesterday. Here is his highlight video, he definitely a play maker, something we havent had on the defensive side of the ball in a long long time.

                                Summarized by rotoworld.com:
Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff indicated to SI's Peter King that he has good information that the Chiefs are unlikely to consider Tennessee S Eric Berry at No. 5 overall.
Dimitroff worked with Chiefs GM Scott Pioli in New England, and they are still close. "I was talking to Scott Pioli about Berry, and I said, 'Scott, this guy's your pick,'" said Dimitroff. "He said, 'You know how I feel about safeties that early.'." The history of safeties taken at the top of the draft is checkered at best. The Chiefs appear more likely to use their first-rounder on an offensive tackle.
I'd like to get Berry, but it looks like we're going OT in the 1st round again. I'm just not liking the fact that we may be taking the #2 OT on the board, but if that happens perhaps we'll shock everyone and take Idaho's Mike Iupati. We need so many positions I doubt I'll be upset with whomever we select..... unless it's another Defensive Tackle.... ugggg.
