  • I went to a Wichita Thunder game this weekend.

I had no idea they were so awful. How long have they been this bad? I remember them being pretty good, "back in the day".

I was talking to a fan during the game - he seemed upset they were moving to the IBA rather than Hartman Arena. Thoughts?

If I remember right, Hartman has no Ice. I don't know if that is a myth floating around or if it is actually true.

They have been terrible for about 1 season. The end of last year and the Beginning half of this year.
The mountains are calling, and I must go.

Actually, they've been pretty bad for most of 3 seasons, but this season is somewhat inexplicably, at least for how bad they are.

Really unfortunate due to the move to IBA.

The guy upset was probably a Park City or surrounding area trailer dweller which makes up (all too much imho) most of the fan base. Infusing some new fans (and class) is key to future success.

There are also some instabilities in ownership....issues as I understand them, are being addressed and should be resolved soon which (again) SHOULD help to improve the franchise as a whole.

I've had a bunch of season tickets for as long as I can remember (although I rarely go) and hope the move to IBA, along with a more clearly defined ownership, will make for a fun and winning product for the city. I really like Joel and want him to succeed. He deserves it.

I`ve never heard anything about Hartman having the coolant lines and stuff to have ice rink. Doesnt make sense to when we have the ice center.

Not a hockey fan and dont follow the Thunder so I dont know what their problem is.

Nope. My location has been generally made available just below my avatar for the past 5 years now. I guess the less intelligent would have to ask. But anyways, I've seen enough trash passing through to confirm Doc's analysis. Did I strike a nerve?
