I'll stick with my predictions from the past couple of storms...lucky to get a trace. I've predicted the last two accurately, why can't the meteorologists?

From Mike Smith's blog: The weather itself is questioning the forecast. Notice the circled question mark in the picture below.

The TV has been 6 hours late on everything today. This was pretty much what the earlier models said this morning.

Wichita WFO: Up to 1 inch possible

The biggest threat may be the freezing rain that is potentially being forecasted.

Looking at some of the latest model runs actually seem to be showing things actually get started later tomorrow into tomorrow night. I don't think anybody has a good handle on this storm.

Lol the Low pressure system is going to Memphis!!! It was supposed to go to the Springfield MO area....talk about an entire state shift. Shifts that large this Late in the game is unheard of!! Have fun with no snow lmao. Talk about one crazy night for the forecasters. We might have the entire state of Kansas's Winter Storm Warnings pulled!

The NWS meteorologists are probably pulling there hair out right now. And this is the college major I am going into.....its a frustrating science that is for sure. :-x

EDIT at 8:31 PM: Well the Latest Model run that came out within the last 10 minutes basically sealed the deal for us. Even the model run 6 hours ago gave us some great snow accumulation, but the latest one is way EAST. Instead of going just east of KC the Low Pressure tracks just East of STL. It is really too late in the game to have another shift as the current Pressure readings are inline with this run. It is very possible for the Winter Storm Warnings to be pulled for almost all but eastern Kansas within the hour. I will say this, the models have handled this storm terribly, it COULD make another change but it is doubtful. Far Eastern Kansas still looks to pick up maybe 2-3 inches. Have a Merry Christmas Everybody.

EDIT at 9:47: Definitely still possible for Wichita to get 2-4 inches. Hard to tell but definitely not the 5-8 KSN was predicting. Sometimes I wonder about KSN.

Alright at the 5 and 6 they were predicting 5-8 which at that particular point in time was reasonable, it wasn't till about 7:30 when things started to go drastically different. However I will say this, the storm seemed to "wobble" during a time period from 7:30 to 8:30. That is the time when all the data was being input in the newest models. That could have thrown the models off so in closing.......no one knows what could happen.

However T-2 inches for the Wichita Area and increasing amounts as you go east and Drastically decreasing amounts as you go west seem to be the best option at this point in time.

Like I said.. if you start a thread like this a week in advance, it's just gonna be a roller coaster.

It's T-24 hours til showtime and no one still knows for certain what's gonna happen.

No doubt about it. But with winter weather setups, I painfully disagree.
