Make sure you have enough cheetos to last you through christmas what with your internet preferences and all. ;-)

Don't think Shirley need to worry about cheetos.

Looking at the NWS HPC latest runs this is looking like a non-event for Wichita (this seem to be primarily a NW KS (8-12 inches) and N. Central KS (4-6 inches) event.

As my dad always used to say, the farmers can always use the moisture.

Basically, it just means there will be less wind with the system and more "warmer" temperatures. Snow amounts remain unchanged.

I will however be shocked if we get anything more than a dusting. These threads are notorious "Snow Karma Killers" this far in advance.

Looks like more rain and freezing rain then snow for Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday and Friday should bring 2 to 4 inches of snow total.

Yip. Doesn't look Wichita is going to get anything. Relatives are trying to figure out whether to cancel Christmas eve and Christmas day festivities becuase of the 2009 Christmas Blizzard but I'm trying to convince them it is premature - but it doesn't help that the local TV continue to fear monger.

Winter Storm Watch has been canceled for Butler, Sedgwick, and surrounding countries. Not too surprising, the track of the low has gone more north and more south. The reason for the sudden shift is the models were consistent when the energy that formed the low pressure system was off the coast of Washington. That track made for good snow here in Wichita. Now that the energy is on shore the Models have been able to get a better handle on it, and its gone East. Not good for snow lovers. We still might get some snow here in the Metro Area but it wont be very much.

My sources say a trace at best. We'll see...
