  • RIP Chris Henry 1983-2009

Chris Henry passed on this morning at 6:36am.

He fell out of the back of a pickup truck driven by his Fiancee, after what police are calling a "domestic dispute."

This one hits a bit close to home with me guys. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for Chris ever since I got a chance to chat with him a few years back. He seemed like a genuinely nice person (he took the time to chat with a guy who recognized him in a shopping mall), and it's my belief he was not equipped with the social skills to handle the spotlight he was under in college / the NFL.

He was very soft spoken, and seemed to be a far cry from the "thug" he has gotten the reputation of having.

I have followed his career closely ever since that chance meeting, and now will frame the jersey I bought after that day.

    RIP Chris Henry

The day before, his fiancee had posted on My Space that they were looking at rings. Then this happened. I hope that she did not intentionally push him out of the truck. She will have to live with this guilt for the rest of her life.

I never thought of Chris as a 'thug', he had off-the-field issues, but he was an angel compared to Adam 'Pac Man' Jones who is indeed a thug. Such a young guy - RIP Mr. Henry

The news said that he jumped in the back of the truck as she was trying to drive off and then she continually swerved back and forth, thus causing him to fall out. If that is truly the case, then there might be some sort of charges filed.

This is sad and he was doing very well. It is unfortunate when this happens to anyone, not just someone who is an athlete or famous.
