  • Tre Reed, Wichita Northwest Sophomore

I saw this on the news last night.

Wichita Northwest sophomore dies of lung cancer

WICHITA, Kansas-- Friends called 15 year old Tre Reed “Whisper” even though no one would describe the Northwest sophomore as quiet. Instead they say he was popular and upbeat.

"My boy was a fighter, the best kid; I wouldn't trade him for the world," said Nicole McCoy,Tre’s mother.

It was just three months ago on June 11th that Tre was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.

Man, that is way too young. What a sad story. Hopefully the family gets the help they need both emotionally and financially. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.

Disgustingly tragic. Did I hear correctly that he was born with HPV?

I thought they said a rare form....which would have to be the case because even passing it to your child is unusual. This is yet another example of a perfectly innocent child suffering due to poor decisions by adults. :-x

May God bless him and watch over his soul.
