What is present day reality? If it involves trash talking, as I think you are implying, then it also involves the violent reaction....the 2 go hand in hand. You defend, even celebrate the trash talking but attack the violence.

You want to have it both ways. You're on the losing end of the argument, yet again. Talk less, listen more. When you learn this lesson, as most of us have, you'll be ahead of the game. Good luck to you. I've made my point, whether you want to see it or not.

It was a bad ending that could have been avoided. '1234 gets it perfectly.....both guys should be punished.
The irony of it all is you talking down to me like you're some sort of expert. The bottom line is, I don't care who you are or what you do, you are no different than me. I have a different opinion than you, and you automatically assume you are right and I am wrong. I feel sorry for you.

And, as far as being on the losing end of the argument, have you read any of the replies in this thread? There seem to be just as many people who agree with me. Is every one else wrong too?

I can tell that you are used to people not standing up to you and to always getting your way. My guess is your family had money and you were handed something in life and you were rarely disciplined and got your way on just about everything. You need to grow up and learn to handle issues with people who feel differently than you. I will never kiss your butt or simply give you everything you want because you have a perception that you are better than me.

Wow. AGAIN, you could not be further from truth and reality. First sentence, 0 for 1. Second, 0-4....maybe 1/2 out of 4. I enjoy lively discussion and have little problem with differing opinions. You seem to struggle with the difference between opinions and facts.

At no point have I had a desire for you or anyone else to kiss my butt or give me everything I want (whatever the hell that means) ....where that comments eminates I have no idea but perhaps you should look inward and figure out what drives your hatred, towards me especially.

Something like this was bound to happen. These two teams have history stemming from last year's game when BSU players laid a couple of questionable hits on some Oregon players during the game.

Obviously, Oregon came into last night's game wanting to avenge their loss from last season and when they couldn't - frustration set in. It takes two to tango, and the BSU guy is just as much at fault as Blount is.

Had it stopped at the punch then I lay blame to both guys, but Blount's actions after the punch is what should get him suspended indefinitely. A freakin' Police Officer was grapling with this guy and barking orders to stop and he still was acting up.

If the guy can't act rational and settle down with a cop right in his face, then the dude has issues that lie beyond frustration on a game loss.

If it happened like that during a basketball game they'd both be ejected. The BSU guy instigated the punch by running his mouth and making contact with the Oregon player. Because of that he's at fault just as much.

Both of these guys are complete idiots and should be punished.

They were saying on ESPN that BSU guy most likely would not be suspended, but would get displined in house.

I figured that's what would happen...if it's indeed true, it's the right decision, IMO.

They keep showing Blount fighting with the crowd on ESPN and I thought I recognized the coach that pulled him back...

Sure enough that's Scott Frost former Nebraska quarterback who's coaching the WR's at Oregon.

Just as much at fault? Yes, he started it and should be discipled for that. However, if Blount had just tap him back, said something, and walk away, then they're equally at fault. He sucker-punched him and both teams/coaches can be commended that nothing worse happened.

Blount then proceeds to punch one of his own players and has to be physically man-handled to keep from going up in the stands. This guy flat lost it!!

I know that BS has already said what they're doing to Hout, but I would have given him a one gamer. Blount, minimum half the season if they say indefinite suspension, as for me, he's gone. Can you image the smack the opposing fans are going to give him if he walks on the field? I wouldn't take the chance that he'd come uncorked again.

The BSU guy was asking for it with his cocky reaction, mouthing, and ultimate "tapping" of Blount.

Blount should have never have hit him and then acted like a deranged lunatic afterwards. For that, he made himself look like the bad guy, deservedly so. With a different reaction, he could have looked like the victim.

Think about it though guys. You just lost to a rival team. You're pissed off. All of a sudden, a cocky guy says a snide remark in your face and gives you a nice tap on the shoulder to boot. What's your immediate reaction? (Remember, you're a 20-year old football player). Are the actions excusable? Hell no. But the blame goes to BOTH players. It was ultimately the BSU players fault for running smack immediately after the game and touching the guy. It was Blount's fault for his reaction, overreaction, and losing it like a dumbass.

There's a difference in talking smack before a game and immediately after it. Also, there's a difference in talking smack through the media and then directly to a player immediately after a rivalry game.

In the end, both players are retarded and both should be suspended.

                    A whole lotta BS.

                      My take:

BSU player deserved gettin a pop across the jaw... BUT you can't pop a player for that. Too unsportsmanlike and ugly. I will say that I'm glad the guy got popped, haha, he turned and started smirking/laughing/grinning/whatever... thinkin he was slick and the BAM!!! a slobberknocker to the grill. And he did get a solid shot to the grill, I'll give Blount that.

Blount: if you can take the heat get the hell up out the kitchen. You can't take trash, get ran out the building, then take out your frustrations like that. I mean, I do understand why he popped the guy... but come on, you have to show a lil self-restraint. I have had plenty of times after a baseball/basketball/football game where I wanted to unload on a guy or fan talking trash but you CANNOT react like that. Let your play on the field do all the talking

Suspensions: 1 game for the BSU player and 4 games for Blount

Great job by the coaches in the post-game comments and the way they have handled the situation thus far.

Shame on you BSU fans for provoking Blount even more... I'm pretty sure they were drunk or just ugly people themselves, the way they acted was disgusting. I can read lips somewhat well and that was a classless and cowardice act. Anyone can s*** from the stands cuz you dont have to back your words up.

The fans were pissed, if the star player for Creighton popped one of our players, hell yea i would be smacking off to him.

                          newshock:

You bring up a good point. My point is being a former sports player and a current fan... It's easy to talk trash from the stands and feel like you're the man but the fact is that you(as in any fan) are not the man and its easy to talk trash when you dont have to back anything up. Yes, players shouldnt go into the stands or talk trash back because thats what comes with being a athlete, you are expected to be the bigger man and set examples for society.

I hate Creighton/Yankee/List goes on... players and get aggrevated, mad, and am a fan of passion but being a passionate fan is different from being a ugly and jerk of a fan.

                              Good! He deserved it.

I also heard that the BSU player reportedly said "I guess now you owe us two a$$ whoopin's". Haaaa!! That's a good one if that's what he said. And, no way did that deserve what Blount did.

Not surprised. Blount picked a bad year to go nuts on the field. Being the first game of the season didn't help his case either.

College football has pushed sportsmanship to the forefront this season and Blount left himself little wiggle room. College football has its sacrifical goat (lamb isn't appropriate here) early in the season and the line has been drawn.
