  • Remind Me: Which political party is "decadent" and

Oh, the GOP hypocrisy abounds yet again.

The South Carolina governor compares the U.S., post-stimulus, to pre-war Germany and Stalin-era Russia, and gets some history wrong.
The truth will set you free. But first, it will piss you off.

That is why true conservatives don't even relate to the GOP anymore - they are Democrats in Republican clothing.

There is no difference between the two parties. Both are decadent and corrupt. The one in power spends, spends, spends the other takes opposites stances to try and get in power and the cycle repeats.

Just look at Obama - has there been any "Change"? Nope, it is the status quo besides the agenda his handlers want to push.

      SB nailed it. Additionally . . .

That article is hilarious. Nothing like someone who doesn't understand the bible in it's totality trying to use it as a tool to convince and convict. They have no concept of what forgiveness, restoration, and more importantly - God's grace - really means. Salon should stick with what they understand, whatever that is.

Bill Clinton wasn't impeached because he fooled around, but because he lied about it under oath. Two character flaws exposed.

If a public official had an affair or any other self-indulgence on the taxpayer's dime, then he should resign or be impeached. Otherwise, it's up to the constituents to decide if they can overlook the moral offense.

For me, if a leader cannot withstand the temptation of infidelity, I can't trust him/her to withstand the temptation of corruption that comes with the power of public office. If I were convinced he/she was repentant and restored, I might make an exception.

As such, I don't trust Newt Gingerich and those of his ilk one bit. He talks a good game of conservative rhetoric but he's an opportunist. He's sees the ship sinking so he's trying to get on the ground floor of whatever develops.

I agree whole heartedly with SB and Royal Shock. I would also like to point out that everyone who has found himself in such a position and has said he was sorry just makes you wonder if he was sorry he had the transgression or just that he got caught. As an after thought how lucky can the governor get by having Michael Jackson pass away the very next day and deflect the spotlight from him.
