  • A strange thought

I know that sane people avoid the "Off-topic" forum but ... I had a question.

There are a lot of interesting people in the world of NCAA athletics. There are obvious people and then there are less obvious people. How hard would it be to organize an actual ShockerNet meeting and lecture on campus where we get to socialize and listen to a talk by one of these people? Would there be interest in this? Could we raise enough money to bring someone in?

Who are some candidates? Well, I'll throw out some ideas in the volleyball world and let others offer ideas for other sports.
    1. John Cook, volleyball coach at Nebraska. Multiple national championships, Nation coach of the year, etc.
    2. The obvious choices: Russ Rose, Jim McLaughlin, John Dunning, Jerritt Elliott, etc.
    3. Did you know that one of the best D1 women's volleyball team has its own team psychologist? Considering how important is the "mental game" to WSU bowling, what great comments and suggestions might a WVB psychologist offer? Should we invite her?
    4. Current international players
    5. Karch Kiraly

This is just a crazy idea because I'm bored. However, such a meeting might be fun.
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

Actually some of us Shockernetter do meet on a regular basis for lunch. Last time we met our guest speaker was IctJay. In the past we met MoValley John, but of course he made us drive to Omaqha - the cheapscape. All you have to do to get in invite is talk to RDR.
