I think i'm starting to get the hang of this politics thing

As time progressed from the election til now, I'm starting to judge both parties and their ideas and have pulled away from the democrats gradually. I think both parties have good points and bad points. While, i'm not for either party, I do realize both sides have their fanboys and fangirls. Hopefully, i'll get this thing down eventually.

Just get the facts and form your own opinions and don't listen to anyone on this board (including me) and you'll be fine no matter what you decide.

I agree, except for the part about not listening to anyone on this board, including pie in eye. Honest debate is a good thing – I like discussing issues with people I might disagree with (heaven knows it is a target rich environment where I live) because I might learn something.

pie in eye is right – do your own research and form your own opinions. Pay careful attention to what politicians say and how they formulate their arguments.

Definitely don't blindly follow a party and pay attention to what they're actually doing and not what they're saying. Too often they're not the same things. I enjoy hearing the different sides of these debates and appreciate those like Maggie. There's one on the other side of the spectrum who I appreciate for the civil and thought out posts but I'm drawing a blank right now. And those aren't the only two but they stand out right now.
