  • The FDA is Insane...

Breakfast cereal now considered a drug. And they want them to file for FDA approval or they threaten to take them off the shelves. :banghead:

I see my nanny state is hard at work protecting me…perhaps they should look into oatmeal, walnuts and orange juice next. :sarcasm:

This case completely explains the metaphor, the FDA "can't see the forest for the trees".

I have felt for years that the FDA has been dropping the ball when it comes to breakfast cereals...especially cheerios. Seriously, look how small they are. They are a choking hazard and the government needs to do something about it! I was at my aunts house just the other day when I saw my little cousin find a cheerio on the floor and put it directly in his mouth. He could have chocked...15 IS TO YOUNG TO DIE!

Contact your representatives and tell them that they need to do something. Warning labels are not enough...Please, Uncle Sam, tell me exactly what to eat. You know what is best for me and I will become malnourished without your guidance.
That rug really tied the room together.

It's not cereal, but it's the FDA looking for more power. I'm no fan of smoking and am glad there are regulations but am wondering if this is setting up to go too far.

It's an attempt by the nannies to wipe out an industry, evidenced by this quote:

"This moment has been coming for 20 years," said Sen. Dick Durbin of Illinois, the Senate's second-ranking Democrat. "We're going to be able to protect millions of children and Americans from deadly tobacco-related disease."
How are you going to "protect" millions of people when there are already laws in place (no minors can purchase) and warnings about the harmful effects? The answer? Further criminalize it's use, tax the crap out of it even though it's already heavily taxed, or just make it virtually impossible for companies to produce an approved product.

Power grab. And another potential defeat for individual liberty.
