The single season MLB record for ERA+ is 294 and was set in 1880.
Zackkkkkkkkkk is currently at 535. Will it hold that high all year - likely not, but fascinating none the less.

If I understand correctly how the math works, 535 isn't that much better than 294. But being near a record that is nearly 130 years old is amazing!

I believe so. If I understood correctly when Bob Gibson set the ERA record his ERA + was still less than the record because it is based on next ERA and is park adjusted.

Basically its alot of math that I dont really want to do.

But yes its still quite a feat!

Last night was brutal, but today we're off to a good start. Bloomquist with a leadoff triple and Maier knocks him in to give KC a 1-0 lead. Hopefully Meche is on top of his game today and the offense can get a few more runs against Buehrle.

Maier just drove in Bloomquist again! This time Willie got on with an infield hit to 2nd. Then Mitch drove an RBI triple into right center field.

Dye got a leadoff triple over Maier's head and scores on a sac fly. Meche has looked pretty good so far though. Hopefully he can get through a few more innings with no problems.

Maybe Maier can hit Bloomquist in again next time they come up :D

Chicago took a 3-2 lead while I was away but Olivo tied it up with a HR and Buehrle is done. Still one out in the bottom of the 8th.

In other injury news, Soria is coming back and Crisp is still out for a few more days.

KC blows it in the 9th. Cruz just can't finish it off and a misplayed ball to Callaspo leads to two more runs for a 3-5 game going into the bottome of 9. We need some heroics here.

Teahen gets a seeing eye single then Jacobs comes in and gets caught looking at a curve on the outside cornder. Jenks was throwing some major heat. I believe he hit 100 twice.
