Greinke is now 8-1 with his 5th CG of the year. He ends the game with 116 pitches and 8Ks.

I wonder if he'll pitch Sunday? They have an off day on Thursday and could skip whoever the new 5th is (Ponson?). However, you have to wonder if Meche is having issues with his back and may be able to use the extra day off...

Pretty interesting. If he starts 32 games, he projects to get 26 wins. I don't see that happening if he keeps throwing complete games at this rate. I hope his arm holds up.

Having that many CG should be a concern. But hes not laboring at all.

Hes only averaging about 110 pitches per 9 innings which is not really that bad.

On another note I just purchased gameday audio. Ill only get to use it a couple of times for the Royals but maybe ill catch some other games. $15 doesnt seem to bad.

Hillman suspended for today's game

On Monday, he was thrown out of the game for arguing a called strike on Bloomquist. I believe it was his first argument of the day, and the ump ejected him before he even came out of the dugout.

Mark Teahen just tied the game 2-2 with a solo home run in the bottom of the 4th. Hopefully, he is coming out of his slump.

I’ve been sparring with my buddy who happens to be a big Red Sox blowhard and I wagered our upcoming ffb entry fee (50) that Greinke would win the Cy. Was that smart so early in the season or has Greinke already separated himself enough from the field that he’s allowed himself some margin of error for the remainder of the season?

The ERA gap between Zack and the rest is pretty remarkable, 0.84 to 2.36 - over 1.5 difference.

But there are five AL starters at 2.63 or under and there is a lot of season left. Two or three poor outings could eliminate most of that gap. On the other hand, it seems like he has elevated himself to a whole new level.

I wouldn't say Zack is a guarantee at all, but I think he's capable of keeping up his dominance and being in the thick of things for sure. I doubt his ERA stays under 1 for the entire season but finishing under 2 or slightly over is very possible. The kid has nasty stuff and has developed I believe into the pitcher we all thought he could be.
