It is my understanding that these TEA Parties are organized by those who are not elected officials and meant as a way for The People to demonstrate for the rights of The People.

How can this be accomplished when the majority of these TEA Parties had headline speakers that included governors, senators, congressmen etc.? Nothing is going to change when the establishment manipulates public discourse to promote their own agenda.

Peaceful dissent now being discouraged and discredited by left leaning media and the Obama Administration. Next on the list is to take away our first amendment rights and our second ammendment right....not necessarily in that order. Buy now, early and often.

I know some Tea Parties allowed elected officials in but many didn't. I will say that a few of those officials probably belonged, most were just trying to ride the coat tails of the movement. Things MUST change and not in the way Obama and his Democrat companions in the Congress want. And not in the way that the Republicans were trying to direct us. America needs to take a giant leap back towards the Constitution.

Jefferson and Company knew what they were doing when the wrote the thing. It's a pretty damn good document if you ask me.

I was involved in several of the tea parties and I have no problem wtih elected officials attending.

If they were on the fence on some fiscal issues, the size and energy of the crowds sent a very loud and clear message of where the public is on out-of-control spending.

It is one thing to tell a newspaper that they "get it" - it is another thing to look out over a crowd of thousands, as there were in Wichita and Topeka, and tell them that the message has been rec'd.

The tea parties are a part of the public getting more control over their elected officials.

I was surprised at the number of people attending these rallys.

Hey, I am as frustrated as anyone but I'll be the first to admit that I am tired....tired of the elections...tired of trying to argue from the standpoint of common sense. Maybe the left is winning when (not to sound righteous or arrogant) an intelligent, common sense based, articulate, conservative, family first person like myself feels like they are taking 2 steps back for every 1 forward.

I didn't want to attend these rallys...I thought they would look like a joke...there is nothing we can do for almost 2 years...why start today?

I was stunned at the number of people attending. I just happened to be near the airport and decided to drive by but the line to get in was too long....I literally could not believe it.

The interview by the CNN gal is amazing. Of course, it's really not an interview. How many different ways can she insult Americans?

Elected officials attending is a good thing. If they actually spoke, I would hope they had a track record of voting against tax increases, voting for spending reductions and against the bailouts. At least then they can say they get it without being hypocritical.

The seemingly successful Tea Parties at least gives me hope that right-thinking Americans may not have lost their resolve to stand up and speak out. We really need 2-4 years of this type of activism for the message to sink in.

The way this was covered by the media should serve as a benchmark for average Americans to determine the intent of said media groups. I didn't watch any of the networks, but from what I've read and heard from others here is my assessment:

CNN, MSNBC, CBS - De-legitimizing, condemnation, covered it begrudgingly . . . BAD!!! OBAMADEMOTRONS!
Fox News - Promotion and cheerleading . . . BAD!!! But at least they were willing to cover it . . . GOOD!

I wonder if future grassroots efforts like this will be deemed an "emergency" by the Obama administration, giving him justification to shut down the internet? Hmmm . . . ;)

Don't forget NBC. It was their top story on NBC Nightly News yesterday. They didn't promote it though.

I didn't see ABC World News or CBS Evening News, so I don't know how they presented it.

Great...in case you don't know, NBC kind of owns MSNBC and their coverage was borderline slanderous. Fortunately, based on ratings, it would appear very few people actually tune in to those stations.

I'm actually quite pleased that the coverage was done the way it was. Those stations very likely continued their trend of losing viewership. And that is a good thing.

I just wonder who, in the rooms of the decision-makers of those networks, thinks it's a good idea to insult and mock a segment of your viewers, however small?

I'm sure MSNBC was, but NBC just reported how the TEA party went. MSNBC is actually owned by both Microsoft and NBC, hence the name MSNBC.
