Why am I not surprised? Another form of bailout.

Hello, printed news organizations . . . the newspaper is fast becoming an archaic form of media. Adapt with a new business model or fold (pun intended).

If they change to non-profit status, would that mean our monthly subscription payments would be tax-deductible? :)

Raidcal Obama Appointee Wants Newspaper Rescue Plan

What worries me most is the fact that this former "journalist" is such a far left wing nut job and now has Pentagon access.

That just shows how distant they are from reality.

"[I] can't imagine anything more dangerous than a society in which the news industry has more or less collapsed," she wrote.
What collapse? I'm still getting my news, just not from your lousy newspapers. Technological advancement and freedom of speech is creating a better product with more choices for Americans. Don't mess with the process!

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I think the quote was more like this:

"[I] can't imagine anything more dangerous than me and my academia elitists actually having to go out and PERFORM in the real world since we have absolutely no idea what the real world is like....and we don't want to....we just want to hang out in our cozy think tanks living off the WORKING MAN'S teat (notice how I didn't say government) while telling the rest of stupid people in America what to think, how to think and who to believe in."

Could this be a reason papers are failing?

Americans high on Obama, direction of US
Nearly 80 percent believe that the rising federal debt will hurt future generations, and Obama is getting mixed reviews at best for his handling of the issue.
80 percent believe it, yet only "mixed reviews"?

The "news" in that story is that polls are unreliable and Americans are embracing socialist, Marxist principles.
