We've discussed it some in the past. But with leading Dems wanting it and Obama considering it I figured it might as well be brought up again. Why is this REALLY needed? Just because people choose not to listen to most liberal radio doesn't mean they should take away conservative talk. And considering the liberals seem to have control of most of the TV and print news why are they so worried about radio anyway? I'd like to hear a good reason for this to be put back into place as I don't believe one actually exists.

One side only supports free speech if it's their ideas being spoken.

They don't want the public to have a choice. They've taken over the majority of education in this country and now they want to control the media.

It's a blatant breach of 1st Amendment rights.

The first autocomplete was Is Air America still on the air.

Find a station in your area within 250 miles.....no affliates in your area.

You know why? IT SUCKS and nobody wants to listen to it. It's called freedom. We fought a war over it....in fact several ones. Do we have to do it again?

So now you want to restrict the media and subsequently, free speech? Nice way to trample the 1st amendment.

Politics in the media is a valuable way for the people to keep checks on our government. If you didn't have that, you'd only get the "official" story. And you know what they say about how you know when a politician is lying.

I'm just sick of it. No matter what any media outlet says, they have spun it one way or the other. Why can't they report the truth? That's all I really want.

It's not the government's job to tell people what to say, how to say it, or to create a market that isn't in enough demand to already exist.

If indeed true, I absolutely applaud the President for his stance. Not exactly earth shattering in importance, but nevertheless it seems to indicate a desire to objectively decide right and wrong and frankly that's all I ask for out of our leaders.

I'm pleased to hear this. But I will reserve my judgement as to why he currently believes it should not be reinstated.

I could just be because it's a politically inopportune time to do it. I Hope that's not the case.
