So you're content with the federal gov't continuing to be in control of much more than they ever should be and dictating everything to the states? I know you're not, but I don't see that changing until states start to do more to stand up for themselves and get things changed. Until things change on a local level, there's little chance of it changing at the federal level. If states keep sitting by and taking it the fed will continue to keep doing more and more. And the more the fed does to worse things seem to get.
Apparently you think it's only solvable at the federal level then. That's fine. But I have little faith in that happening without the states doing more.
What if states started disputing some of these laws that the feds are passing and getting them heard by the US supreme court?
For instance, what if Kansas said that the federal government did not have the right to charge a tax on gas in Kansas? What if the federal government didn't have the right to tell Kansas what the standards were for 'X'.
And that Kansas was fully prepared to forego any federal funds? I understand that some of you will bring this aspect up.
I'm just asking hypothetically. Is this how the states would have to act to roll back this move toward socialism by B.O.?
"When life hands you lemons, make lemonade." Better have some sugar and water too, or else your lemonade will suck!

Unfortunately the US Supreme Court now only exists to protect the government from the people.

In many ways you're about right on how things would probably have to go. And sadly, rZ is probably correct on the SC. But the states will have to do something. There is a belief by some that if enough states start to challenge things that some favorable rulings may come.
