The problem is that the federal Govt is already too far up everyone's Arss.

But this is what I have always advocated. If states want to have gay marriage, have gay marriage. If states want to have universal healthcare in their state, fine. If they want to mandate non-smoking and etc, etc, etc. Fine. It's up the states. The federal government has no role in any of this. It is there to build an Army and a few other things and that's about it.

But I just don't see how we start the trend of rolling back the government at this point.

And much of the "talk" about sovereignty and state's rights is just that... talk. Republicans (and Democrats) talk a good game, but do something entirely different when $$ are there for the taking.

Eliminate the federal taxes that end up in the states and let the states handle the money more effeciently. The net result for the non-nanny states is a lower tax burden.

Has anyone read The 5,000 Year Leap, A Miracle That Changed the World? I'm only about half through it and should finish it in the next day or two depending on how much time I can find to sit down and read it. It's quite a good book that goes over the founding principles of this country. A lot of research went into it and it has a number of quotes from the Founding Fathers and others about the principles and ideas that were used to write our beloved Constitution.

The link provided offers a number of quotes on different areas from different sources. I highly recommend the book if you haven't already read it.

Wasn't aware of Freedom Watch but will check for it on YouTube. I've enjoyed the Judges appearances on different shows on Fox and think he'd be great with his own show.
