  • Will this man be the next Chiefs head coach

Rumors are flying all over KC about Haley.
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kickass ... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

Who cares? (asked by a former Chiefs fan) :D
Some posts are not visible to me. :peaceful:
Don't worry too much about it. Just do all you can do and let the rough end drag.

I don't know a whole lot about Pioli, but I am learning that he does not say much to the press. He hasn't spoken publicly since his official press conference, and that didn't reveal anything specifically about his plans for the Chiefs.

Officially, Herm is still our head coach, but his assistants are leaving one by one. I would have thought Pioli would fire Herm right away just as a professional courtesy. I am sure he is working away behind the scenes on something, but nothing is leaking out at all, which would have been unusual during the King Carl Era.

Whatever he comes up with for a head coach -- Haley, or whoever -- I am sure it will be better than what we have now.

I'd have no problem with Haley... I actually was hoping for a Rex Ryan type, but IMO Haley is a solid guy.

I'm happy to see Gunther is moving on - the defense has become very stale and fundamentals like tackling have gone out the window in favor of trying to cause turnovers. Not sure why anyone would take a job at Detroit, but he has ties to Schwartz and he has clearly become non-productive with the Chiefs. See ya!

          Can Herm be far behind?

Herm comes from the defensive side of the coin, and they are not getting done - what's that tell ya? And Offense is lacking bigtime. One good quaterback will not solve all of the Chiefs offensive woes.

While I agree with you that it won't solve all problems, I implore anyone to name a team with sustainability (EX: more than the Raven's one Superbowl) that didn't have a superstar QB. A guy like Thigpen or Trent Dilfer is not going to keep your team in the hunt for very long.

... and I do hope I'm wrong about Thigpen

I just don't know why it's necessary to take a flyer on an unproven coordinator, when there are some Super Bowl Champion Whales out there for the picking -- Cowher, Shanahan, Gruden, Parcells.

I think it may be SHANAHAN; Herm is out.

He's got a proven record and who better to know what the Chiefs need than someone who constantly beat us. On the other hand, I have no problem with a younger, less experienced coach. I'll wait to hear what the people who are getting paid big bucks decide. Whomever it is, I'm sure the KC Administration has thought about it quite a bit. They wouldn't have waited this long and let a lot of other good coaches take other positions if they didn't have something in mind. Pioli is no fool.

I was going to post here a couple days ago suggesting the Chiefs fire Herm, and promote Chan Gailey to Interim Head Coach. This may have some legs to it.

I would not be a happy Chiefs fan if the Rat was brought in to coach KC.
