Bernie Madoff was a Jew's, Jew. If you were one of the chosen people and had some dough, you put your money with Bernie.
Bernie might single-handedly take down the Nation of Israel. The current loss tally is at 50 billion dollars, but that number is probably going to get much worse. Many large corporations used Madoff's firm as a cash management vehicle.
This was the biggest financial scam ever perpetrated in the history of the world. Well... this and the Iraq war.
Bernie did to the rich what the middle-class can only dream of. He took 40
years of a sterling Wall-Street reputation and flushed it all away to take down some of America's snobbiest snobs.

I don't have lots of sympathy for the victims.
Many investment folks didn't participate.
They looked at his marketing materials, which stated commodity future volume just for his fund that was equal to the entire daily market b/t the Chicago Board of Trade, NY Mercanile, KC Board of Trade etc.
The folks who said "no" knew that one fund couldn't handle that kind of volume.Comment

Some of the quarterly statements he issued were about as neat and clean as they come. His victims weren't dummies.
