Demon Hunter, Thousand Foot Krutch, RED, Chavelle, etc. for lifting.

A lot of Trans Siberian Orchestra Christmas music going on the cardio playlist right now.

I had someone tell me RED was pretty good. Are there any other Christian bands they are comparable to?

I've only heard two RED albums. One was alright. But the one that had the "symphonic" aspect to it was really good.

They have a fairly hard edge to them, think maybe Pillar or Skillet, but they add atmospheric elements to their music, some piano intros and symphonic accompaniment that really blend well with the heavy guitars.

From Allmusic.com: Red's addition of string sections and piano parts on most every song (and not just in delicate tracks like "Pieces" and "Already Over, Pt. 2") gives a nice ethereal edge to the band's otherwise intense and crashing rhythms.

I sometimes load Bach onto my mini. Seriously when doing a nice 8 minute mile pace for my long run days Bach's Brandenburg Concertos do the trick. Seriously.
