Don't look for gas prices to go up until the economy picks up and people start driving more. With all the jobs being lost, that won't happen too soon.

I think that he feels like he has a real mandate for change.
Now the mandate talk begins. Here we go.

When it comes to energy? Are you deadpan serious?

            You bet he is.

Whether good or bad, BO is going to drastically alter the energy landscape in the US. You can be assured that during the BO administration our energy cost will rise- notably so. To some people's ideology that is a good thing, to most of the rest of us- who don't buy into a certain groupthink- it's a bad thing.

shocker fever, can you reply to a post with something of substance? Or do you always just reply with insults?
Try actually debating a point with some fact, it can be very satisfying :good:

Develop an anti-Democratic viewpoint with some substance and I'll oblige.

So the fact that Obamas insiders were on all the cable news networks today saying that he will use executive order to stop drilling, which will in turn raise gas prices, is NOT a substanitive argument?
                        Stop drinking the liberal koolaid.
Kick 'em square in the grapes! (that can be very painful)

It is a fact gas would have stayed at $1.89/gallon for the entire duration of the McCain Administration...

Seriously, you're worse than the libs.

It will only be in some areas.

Environmentalists look to Obama to limit drilling

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Environmentalists on Monday applauded an announcement that U.S. President-Elect Barack Obama would consider curtailing oil and gas drilling in some areas, and expressed hope future energy policy decisions would contain more environmental protections.

The co-chair of Obama's transition team, John Podesta, said on Sunday that Obama probably would reverse an executive order by President George W. Bush allowing drilling in fragile lands in Utah.

The US doesn't rely on domestic oil to make much of the gasoline. Most of the crude used to make gasoline is imported from Venezuela and the Middle East. The sweet crude is preferred over the domestic stuff. Alot of the oil drilled in the US is exported. Especially from Alaska.
