We are in 2 of the dumbest "conflicts" our country has ever been involved with. I've been trained to respect the chain of command. Bush is the current Commander-In-Chief of the armed forces.

When my fellow members of the armed forces are asked to sacrifice their lives for our country, I want to know what we are getting in return for those irreplaceable lives. If we are ever to leave Afghanistan or Iraq, I want to know how we're going to get the last couple of thousand troops out. The last guys out are likely to be on a suicide mission.

There is nothing we could have done that was more likely to increase the membership of AlQuida than to invade 2 countries in the area where terrorists are created.

The lives of my fellow servicemen are being spent and the only likely result is to increase the number of terrorists who hate the USA and want to damage our country in ways we can't predict.

I have the greatest respect for the servicemen who are fighting our wars. I have less respect for those who sent them to war, condemned 10,000 or 20,000 of them to death, and likely created an increased risk of terrorism in the future.
Outstanding and perhaps the top political post! :good: 8)

      Rarely articulated better.

Respect your opinion but completely disagree with some of your assertions. I have the facts to back up my opinion but am too tired to share them tonight and this isn't an appropriate thread. Maybe next week.

Hey boys and girls, enjoy it while you can, but the fight starts tomorrow to win back control. This is how you guys did it for the last 8 years, so expect nothing less. We will make it as difficult as possible for the libs to get their agenda through. If we have enough to filibuster, you will not get a single court appointee through, just like the libs did to Bush.
The shoe is on the other foot now, so hit me with your best shot.

              • If this country is going to suck so bad with Obama being President, haul your asses off to Canada, Europe or wherever else you see fit. Regardless who is President, this is still the greatest country on earth, be a Patriot instead of bickering about who got elected. God and Country in that order people.

Have we lined up meetings with Ahmadinajad, Chavez, and Hezbollah yet?

                        • I am not leaving, I am going to do everything to change the direction this country has just taken.
By the way, I could say the same thing for those who voted for the socialist, if you love socialism, why not move to a socialist country instead of ruining this one?

I quit drinking Kool-Aid as a child. Don't drink red or blue.

This country, since the baby boomers came of age (I am one of them) have been the most ideological divided generation of Americans since the Civil War. I remember a time when people did not use the terms Liberal or Conservative very often. We were Republicans or Democrats, but there was no question about our patriotism, morality, or respect for each others differing opinions. I miss those days.

You can rage against the lack of morality, etc all you want to, life and politics are like a pendulum. Swing far to the left (65-79), you will eventually swing too far to the right (2000-2008). The sooner we learn to keep the swings much closer to the center, the better off we will be.

My bet is that BO does his best to do that. If he doesn't, 2010 is just a couple of years away.
