Here is what your (future) tax money is buying:
1. Let Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Island pocket $192 million in federal excise taxes collected from rum makers. BTW, the rum makers are playing these two territories for these excise tax revenues. In otherwords - its a rum subsidies.
2. PNC Financial received 7.7 billion dollars from the bailout. They used 5.58 billion to buy National City Corp. Lawmakers protested, but there was no provision in the bill say this could not be done.
3. Banks accepting bailout money are using it to pay dividends to stockholders and to give bank executives bonuses.
4. U.S. Treasurey hired NY Mellon Corp as "custodian" of the bailout program. They received 3 billion of the bailout.
5. Hollywood got modification to amount of expenses they can write off ($15,000,000).
6. Exemption for companies who make certain wooden arrows for children.
7. Taxpayers who received income from litigation of the Exxon Valdez lawsuits received exemptions.
